The third edition of Lee Kit’s “Portfolio” series, “Portfolio Ⅲ,” is now completed.
When people experience intense emotions, Lee says, those feelings can sometimes become “muted” instead—subdued rather than amplified. In the second edition of “Portfolio,” released in 2023, such a sense of muted quietude permeated the images. The third edition comprises eleven images created over the past two years. In addition to images taken and collected by Lee, this edition includes digitally drawn portraits. One senses subtle signs of a person regaining humor and emotional movement even while carrying complex feelings.
The “Portfolio” series has been produced collaboratively by Lee Kit and ShugoArts since 2020. Each edition is composed of images Lee takes, collects, or draws in his daily life, selected and edited. At times, lyrics from music or words that echo in daily life are layered onto the images.
“Portfolio III” is also an essential component of the exhibition “Some broken days and broken fingers,” opening on 13 December 2025 at ShugoArts.
We warmly welcome you to explore it at the gallery.
