ShugoArts is pleased to announce ShugoArts Show featuring works by Masaya Chiba, Masato Kobayashi, Naofumi Maruyama, Anju Michele, Ritsue Mishima, and Shigeo Toya. In this exhibition, we will focus on Masato Kobayashi’s work No.12 (Trees=Plafond) (1988), which was created before he developed floor-standing paintings; Naofumi Maruyama’s krebs cycle l (1989) from his debut series of abstract paintings; and Shigeo Toya’s Woods—I (1984), a prototype from his life’s work, the Woods series. This exhibition offers a valuable opportunity to explore the origins of these artists’ works by tracing their evolution from their current practices back to their earlier creations.
